Plain-English summary
This policy sets out what you can and cannot do when using Acera's platform and services. The short version: use Acera for legitimate analytical and measurement work, do not attempt to harm the platform or other users, and do not upload data you do not have the right to share with us. If you breach this policy, Acera may suspend or terminate your access.

3. Prohibited uses
3.1 Harm the platform or infrastructure
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, any Acera account, or any system or network connected to Acera;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform without Acera's prior written authorisation;
- transmit any virus, worm, trojan, ransomware, or other malicious code;
- conduct denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks against the platform or any connected infrastructure;
- scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform without prior written permission; or
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from any part of the Acera platform, its underlying models, or the Priors Bank.
3.2 Violate applicable law or third-party rights
You must not:
- upload, transmit, or process data in breach of any applicable law, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Consumer Law, or any equivalent law in your jurisdiction;
- upload data to which you do not hold the necessary rights, licences, or permissions, including customer-level data where your privacy policy does not authorise the disclosure to a third-party analytics processor;
- use the platform to infringe the intellectual property rights of Acera or any third party;
- use the platform for any fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading purpose; or
- use Acera deliverables in a manner that constitutes misleading or deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law.
3.3 Harm other users or third parties
You must not:
- use the platform to harass, threaten, or harm any individual or organisation;
- share your Acera account credentials with any person not authorised under your retainer agreement; or
- use a shareable PLG link to redistribute a deliverable containing personal information about identified individuals without first obtaining appropriate consent or applying appropriate redactions.
3.4 Misuse Astra or the analytical pipeline
You must not:
- attempt to manipulate Astra into producing outputs that misrepresent the underlying data or analysis;
- submit fabricated, falsified, or materially misleading data for analysis; or
- attempt to extract Acera's proprietary methodology, rulebook, or Priors Bank structure through systematic querying of Astra or any other platform component.
4. Data you upload
By uploading data to the Acera platform you represent and warrant that:
- you own or are otherwise authorised to share the data with Acera for the purposes of your engagement;
- the data does not contain personal information about individuals in a manner that would breach your obligations under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 or any other applicable privacy law; and
- the data does not contain information that is subject to professional privilege, regulatory embargo, or court-ordered confidentiality, unless you have obtained all necessary authorisations to disclose it to a third-party analytics processor.
Acera will process your uploaded data solely for the purposes of delivering your engagement. See the Privacy Policy and, for enterprise clients, the Data Processing Agreement.
5. Shareable links
When you generate and distribute a shareable PLG link:
- you take responsibility for ensuring the recipients are authorised to receive the information in the deliverable;
- you must not share a link with a person who is, to your knowledge, a direct competitor of Acera unless you have Acera's prior written consent; and
- you acknowledge that Acera may revoke a shareable link if it receives a credible report that the link is being used unlawfully or in breach of this policy.
6. Rate limits
The platform enforces rate limits to ensure fair usage. Excessive API usage may result in temporary throttling. Contact us if you require higher limits.
7. Enforcement
Acera may, at its sole discretion:
- issue a warning for a first or minor breach;
- suspend your access to the platform pending investigation of a suspected breach; or
- immediately terminate your account and any retainer agreement (where applicable) for a material or repeated breach.
Acera will use reasonable endeavours to give notice before taking enforcement action, except where the breach involves illegal activity, a security risk, or a risk of harm to the platform or other users that requires immediate action.
Termination of access for a breach of this policy does not entitle the client to a refund of any retainer fees paid.
8. Reporting a breach
If you become aware of a use of the Acera platform that you believe breaches this policy, report it to security@aceralabs.com.au with as much detail as possible. Acera will investigate all credible reports.
9. Changes to this policy
Acera may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at aceralabs.com.au/legal/acceptable-use with a revised last-updated date. For registered users, we will send an email notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect.
10. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
